Minister's Letter Dear All, Welcome to the last Newsletter before the Summer break and therefore the last newsletter of the Methodist Connexional year. It is also in fact the last newsletter of the 17th year of my ministry amongst you. As such I would like to take the space afforded to me to say a few words by way of thanks and appreciation! First of all, thank you for this Newsletter which is produced so beautifully and accurately week after week. Thank you to the editor and to all of the people who contribute to each issue in their different ways. I know that this newsletter not only keeps people informed - there is so much in it each week that also entertains but more importantly inspires all of us. So thank you. May I also express my heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported the life of our Church through another Methodist year, to those who have stepped down, to those who have taken on new or re-visited roles and to those who have continued in the wonderful work they do. I feel so privileged to be the minister of such a loving, vibrant and committed congregation - that sense of privilege has not diminished with the passing of the years it has only increased. Last but not least we all say thank you to our heavenly Father God who has called us, who through his only begotten Son has redeemed us, who through his Spirit has guided, empowered and refreshed us. To God be all thanks and praise - yes! to God be the Glory! Now the Newsletter takes a rest as though it is almost reminding us and inviting us through the hot month of August to follow suit. The re-appearance of the Newsletter will coincide with our Annual Covenant service when, refreshed as we are, we will renew our promises to the Lord Jesus and be ready to serve him with renewed enthusiasm through another Methodist Year whatever it may bring for us as a people! With warm Christian love, Your minister and friend Tom |
